Running Goal- Week One Results and Week Two Objectives

And here is how Week 1 of training for my planned year-end half marathon went.  Drum roll please.

Well, it went about as expected.  The first thing you should know is that I am a light sleeper.  Some weeks this really kicks me in the butt, and this was one of them.  Unfortunately, it did impact my schedule a little bit.  Anyways, here are the objectives and the results-

Week 1 Results

Tues: 3 mile run- COMPLETED

Wed: 2 mile run or cross training (will almost always be cross training during the summer) COMPLETED.  I did reps of of Shoulder Press and Diamond sit-ups for this.

Thu: 3 mile run MISSED. After a bad night’s rest Wednesday night, I wasn’t able to get myself up to do this.

Fri: rest  COMPLETED.  Ha ha, like this one was hard to do.  I didn’t sleep well at all Thursday night either, ugh, and couldn’t get myself to make up for not running Thursday, so this was a rest day for me.

Sat: 30 minute cross train COMPLETED.  I finally did my 3 mile run from Thursday here, and with my Son. Training and bonding, yes! Actually, it was only a two mile run, but it felt good to just get out there and stretch my legs after Thursday and Friday.

Sun: 4 mile run TBD I will either cross train or run later today. If I run, I may not do four miles, since I ran Saturday. Either way, this one will happen.  Maybe I should report Sun-Sat so that I don’t have tbd’s in the future?

And here are my objectives for Week 2-

Mon: Rest

Tue: 3 mile run

Wed: 2 mile run or cross-training

Thu: 3 mile run

Fri: Rest

Sat: 30 min cross-training

Sun: 4 m run

Ready to take me up on my offer to come run with me at the Florida West Coast Half Marathon yet?  How about just getting started running, and maybe shoot for your first 5k this year?

It’s still early, and there’s plenty of time to train with me!
