Running Goal- Week 7 Results And Week 8 Objectives

So I ran my simulated 5k race on Sunday, and it went well.  It was on a treadmill, so I don’t consider it to be the same as outside running.  But I still managed to best all my treadmills runs since I made the switch to indoors, and I bested my time in the real 5k I ran back on Mother’s Day.  It also marked the half way point of the first… half….of my training plan.

I guess I could have just said I’m a quarter of the way through.  In any case, I’m feeling like training is going better than I expected at this point. This week was a little chaotic, but still productive.

Here are the results for week seven-

Sun: 5k Race-COMPLETED.  I hit an average pace in the 11’s, which is by far my best so far this year.

Tue: 4.5 mile run- COMPLETED.

Wed: 3 mile run or cross-training- COMPLETED.  I opted to run this time instead of the cross-training due to some traveling I have planned for later this week.

Thu: 4.5 mile run- COMPLETED.  Due to being out of town the rest of the week, I went ahead and ran 7 miles today, and will make Sunday a rest day.

Fri: Rest

Sat: 50 Minute Cross Training.  The hotel we’re staying at had a gym, so my husband and I got some workout time in this morning.  It was more like 30 minutes than 50, but still glad we got it in.

Sun: 7 mile Run

Mon: Rest

Tue: 4.5 mile run

Wed: 3 mile run or cross-training

Thu: 4.5 mile run

Fri: Rest

Sat: 50 minute cross-training

Ready to take me up on my offer to come run with me at the Florida West Coast Half Marathon yet?  How about just getting started running, and maybe shoot for your first 5k this year?

There’s plenty of time to train, and whether you’re an experienced runner or a beginner, I’d love to see you come  do this race with me
