Running Goal- Week 4 Results and Week 5 Objectives

I’ve set a goal for myself to run a half marathon before year-end. To meet this goal, I’ve signed up for the West Coast Half Marathon that’s going to happen in Sarasota in December, and I’ve started training.  Each week, I’ll share my training objectives, as well as the results from the previous week.  I’d also like to invite you to come run with me.

With the July 4th holiday past us, things were back to a little more of a regular schedule this week.  While my five mile run on Sunday wasn’t great, I hit all of my milestones this week, and had some good workouts.  Here are the results:

WEEK 4 RESULTS

Sun: 5 mile run- COMPLETED.  For some reason, I just did not do well on this run.  My overall pace was pretty slow, but I got the full five miles in.

Mon: Rest- COMPLETED.

Tue: 3.5 mile run- COMPLETED. The pace wasn’t great, but this was my fastest run of the week.

Wed: 2 mile run or cross-training- COMPLETED.  I did shoulder press and ring rows.

Thu: 3.5 mile run- COMPLETED.  I missed my window to run before work, so I sucked it up and ran at the end of the day.

Fri: Rest- COMPLETED.

Sat: 40 min cross-training- COMPLETED.  I did bench press, dumbell curls, and sit-ups.

AND HERE ARE MY OBJECTIVES FOR WEEK 5-

Sun: 5 mile run

Mon: Rest

Tue: 4 mile run

Wed: 2 mile run or cross-training

Thu: 4 mile run

Fri: Rest

Sat: 40 min cross-training

Ready to take me up on my offer to come run with me at the Florida West Coast Half Marathon yet?  How about just getting started running, and maybe shoot for your first 5k this year?

There’s plenty of time to train, and whether you’re an experienced runner or a beginner, I’d love to see you come  do this race with me!
