I’ve set a goal for myself to run a half marathon before year-end. To meet this goal, I’ve signed up for the West Coast Half Marathon that’s going to happen in Sarasota in December, and I’ve started training.  Each week, I’ll share my training objectives, as well as the results from the previous week.  I’d also like to invite you to come run with me.

The half marathon I’m going to run is only six weeks away.

This was one of my better weeks of training in awhile.  Which is good, because now’s the time I am really going to have to step it up.

I’m going to try to consistently hit splits in the 11’s this coming week.

WEEK 15 RESULTS

Sun: 8 mile run- COMPLETE.  It was a good run.

Mon: Rest

Tue: 5 mile run- COMPLETE.  I almost ran outside for the first time in like four months, but it started to rain right when I was starting.  Back to the treadmill.

Wed: 3 mile run or cross-training- MISSED.

Thu: 5 mile run- COMPLETE.  Outside! Along the bay!  My splits were decent, but it felt so good to get off the treadmill.

Fri: Rest

Sat: 60 minutes of cross training- MISSED.  Out camping with my husband, my son, and his Cub Scout pack. Wait, does that count as cross-training? Lol

AND HERE ARE MY OBJECTIVES FOR WEEK 16-

Sun: 8 mile run

Mon: Rest

Tue: 5 mile run

Wed: 3 mile run

Thu: 5 mile run

Fri: Rest

Sat: Crosstraining

Ready to take me up on my offer to come run with me at the Florida West Coast Half Marathon yet?  How about just getting started running, and maybe shoot for your first 5k this year?

There’s plenty of time to train, and whether you’re an experienced runner or a beginner, I’d love to see you come  do this race with me!
