I’ve set a goal for myself to run a half marathon before year-end. To meet this goal, I’ve signed up for the West Coast Half Marathon that’s going to happen in Sarasota in December, and I’ve started training.  Each week, I’ll share my training objectives, as well as the results from the previous week.  I’d also like to invite you to come run with me.

I can’t tell if last week was a crazy week, or just a normal week for our crazy household.

First, all eyes were on Hurrican Michael as it went barreling by.  Luckily, we were spared most of the impact. Then, my husband came down with a cold, which shifted a lot of stuff from his plate to mine.

The bottom line, sticking to my plan continues to be harder now than it was over the summer.

WEEK 15 RESULTS

Sun: 8 mile run- COMPLETE.  I’ve backed down on distance and am focusing on increasing my average pace for now.

Mon: Rest

Tue: 5 mile run- COMPLETE.  Not a great run, but a run nonetheless.

Wed: 3 mile run or cross-training- MISSED.

Thu: 5 mile run- MISSED. With my husband out of commission, I was in charge of dinner and getting my son to basketball, leaving little time for a workout.

Fri: Rest

Sat: 60 minutes of cross training- MISSED.  I did attend a baby shower, a kid’s basketball game and a hockey game, which pretty much took up my whole day, and left me little time for a workout.

AND HERE ARE MY OBJECTIVES FOR WEEK 16-

Sun: 8 mile run

Mon: Rest

Tue: 5 mile run

Wed: 3 mile run

Thu: 5 mile run

Fri: Rest

Sat: Crosstraining

Ready to take me up on my offer to come run with me at the Florida West Coast Half Marathon yet?  How about just getting started running, and maybe shoot for your first 5k this year?

There’s plenty of time to train, and whether you’re an experienced runner or a beginner, I’d love to see you come  do this race with me!
