2019 Fitness Goal Objectives- Week of Jan 6


As I shared yesterday, I’ve got my fitness goals set for the year.  Now I just need to go out there and do it.

Except, I’ve managed to come down with the flu.

Or a cold.  Or the plague.  I don’t know what it is, but it’s had me out of commission for going on three days. And as I write this, I don’t feel much like exercising right now.

I had started to put together a weekly plan, that included a workout for today.  But, I’m taking it easy today so I can go back to work tomorrow rested.  I’ll start my workouts on Monday if I’m feeling up to it.

You’ll notice a couple things about my schedule.  First, I’ll be doing a mix of distance running, sprints, and weight training for my legs.  I’m also dedicating two days a week for upper body, and the other two days for rest.

I’ll be blocking off Saturday’s on my calendar as one of my rest days so that I don’t have to worry about conflicts with other activities, including my Son’s basketball, Cub Scouts, and any travelling we’ll be doing this year.

I’m also planning on running up to three 5k’s this year to provide a little extra incentive for my training.  The first one will be the Gasparilla Distance Classic in late February.

Here it is, this Week’s Schedule:

Sun- Rest (would have been sprints)

Mon- Upper body (or rest if I’m not fully recovered)

Tue- Run (2 or 3 miles). I should be fully recovered by then.

Wed- Rest

Thur- Legs

Fri- Upper Body

Sat- Rest
